quote [ It’s one of the most striking — and worrisome — signs of global warming in the Arctic: The permafrost is beginning to thaw, and it’s releasing greenhouse gases that could actually accelerate climate change and threaten future generations.
If this continues unchecked, “You will die,” said Russian ecologist Sergey Zimov, who runs a research outpost called the Northeast Science Station, “Maybe not you, but there is no chance for your grandchildren.” ] Both unnerving and inspirational - a very interesting short video worth watching to the end.

That's an interesting argument, "Tear down the arctic forests, because the ground in the far north actually holds more carbon than the trees." It's totally counter to the arguments made for jungles and temperate forrest. It would make things complicated for the eco-minded activists, making their message seem inconsistent to the semi-informed or willfully ignorant and, and make them easy targets for the climate change deniers.
