I feel like if I have to explain why a post is interesting, it's probably not really interesting enough to post. If I have an opinion about the post it should go in the comments along with everyone else's; I'm not special.
Plus, I think it looks horrible when there's too much text in a post and it all ends up jammed in next to the thumb instead of below it where it belongs -- so much so that I'll sometimes go look for a less wordy source or even scrap the post altogether if I can't manage to trim the quote down to where it's still informative but short enough not to break shit. Any comment beyond the mandatory minimum is just going to make that even harder. |
