The French King Who Believed He Was Made of Glass

quote [ Strangely, King Charles was far from alone in his glass delusion. He was only the most exalted representative of a rash of Glass Men that appeared throughout Europe between the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries. ]

In 1392, struck with a fit of rage and paranoia, he slaughtered four of his knights.

David Dunn: You killed all those people.

a scholar who believed that the surface of the world was made of glass, beneath which lurked a tangle of serpents. He did not dare to leave his bed, for fear that he would smash the glass and fall in among the snakes.

I once edited the final level of (forgotten video-game gem) Oni so that every structure was glass. Within the first second of running it, commander Griffin fired his taser and the whole world smashed, dropping every character, villain and hero alike through the floor. That seemed to count as winning, because the end scene triggered, but the engine ground to a half.

Best quote!
I wonder though, why the bed didn't break the surface.

Don't bother trying to apply logic to insanity.
