Wow...just wow... okay, there's not a whole lot more that I can contribute to the foregoing assessment (Spoiler alert: State Dept person claims D-Day is evidence of a "long relationship")

The Trump administration is doing a fine job of uniting politicians. Yesterday the Canadian House of Commons voted unanimously in a motion to support Justin Trudeau's stance in defending Canadian interests against Trump's anti free trade posturing. The House rose in applause for a Conservative opposition speech in support of the Trudeau led Liberal government.

She referenced the Marshall Plan as an example of a strong relationship with Germany, and D-Day as a tongue-in-cheek example of a long history together. She did fine.

Not quite. She left out the Nuremberg trials as an example of our shared commitment to justice.

I'm kind of disappointed she did not mention the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki as the start of a long technological and scientific partnership.
