I'd be willingto bet the viral-like adoption of gamification to manipulate behavior is also a major drive behind terms like rockstar, rebel, etc being used to overlay a more enticing narrative over the silicon valley bullshit. It's basic, but it works, and they'll beat that horse into mush.
