Of course it doesn't prevent against being tagged by others or shadow-accounts being further profiled. It looks like the opt-out move was greenlighted by EU politics, despite various data protection offices trying to stop it.

Yet another reason to refer people to when they ask for my WhatsApp.
I don't install Messenger why would I use WhatsApp; just give me the phone number with a country code. |
