This Republican politician allegedly told a woman "I no longer have to be PC" before grabbing her crotch

quote [ In an incident that echoes Donald Trump's "pussy-grabbing" controversy, a Republican politician has been arrested and charged with sexual assault after an altercation with a woman ended with him grabbing her crotch.

Christopher von Keyserling, a 71-year-old member of the Representative Town Meeting in Connecticut (a form of local government), is accused of insulting and then assaulting a staffer during a disagreement over none other than Donald Trump himself. . ]

When you're a star, you can grab 'em by the pussy. This guy? Not a star.

Well now he's a star.

And he's about to get his starfish reamed. A damn shame, I'm super sad about it.

I miss the days when people went on competition shows to find out if they were star material. Now it's just grab a crotch and see what happens.

In this case, only the statement is "allegedly." The scumbag's assault was caught on camera.
kylemcbitch said @ 7:06pm GMT on 16th Jan
I see we are giving "allegedly" the same treatment people have been giving "fact" for awhile now.

Along these same lines I am still looking for the number of Confederate flags and pick-ups Friday and if the networks will show them if they are there.

The inauguration will mark a big victory for the Clan and Militia types as well and I sincerely expect to see some celebration.

Godspeed. I am going to one here in Seattle with my girl. Everyone is gonna wear cat hats and chant he should try grabbing us.
1111 said @ 2:30am GMT on 18th Jan

So you’ll chant, in cat hats, because you lost the fucking election?

You could, conceivably, make this up. (But nobody would believe you.) I blame Theodore Dreiser…

Love this site

kylemcbitch said @ 2:37am GMT on 18th Jan
Wow numbers, I didn't think you were quite that petty. Yes. I will go out and chant in some cat hats because someone I don't like won the election. Because:

A) It sounds like fun
B) It's my right to do so
C) You'll literally never see me complaining about anyone's right to protest, even Nazis.
1111 said[1] @ 6:03pm GMT on 18th Jan
I fully endorse your right to protest, even protest the outcome of an election, nothing so clearly reveals the antidemocratic sentiment baked right into your politics. Like the Nazis, it allows us all to see how great the forces are arrayed against democracy and rule of law. And when the violence breaks out, as it will, because it’s the yin to your anti-democratic yang – you’ll be quick to distance yourself from it, even though it is as sure an element in your protest as the silly hats. These are your people. Thuggery comes naturally to them. It’s so predictable, you almost needn’t go through the motions.

kylemcbitch said @ 7:03pm GMT on 18th Jan
Again, "Democracy" isn't what you think it means. Would you care to review which person had the more votes?
1111 said @ 9:31pm GMT on 18th Jan

You want to change the rules because the outcome doesn't suit you.

See my comments above.

kylemcbitch said @ 9:36pm GMT on 18th Jan
You want to change the rules because the outcome doesn't suit you.

And even if that contention were true (it's not, I simply would like us to change the rules going foward,) you still have the problem of that having fuck all to do with "democracy."
1111 said @ 9:49pm GMT on 18th Jan

Of course the contention is true - manifestly so.
And I don't have any comprehension problems with democracy. You just don't like it when you lose.

Have fun at the riot.

kylemcbitch said @ 10:04pm GMT on 18th Jan
No comprehension issues? Really?

Please justify how my support of "the person who got the most votes should be the person that won" is anti-democratic, you stupid git?

Pretty funny to have to read about a local criminal complaint in Connecticut in an Australian news source. Here's a local version of the story, somewhat stripped of all the wider political context.
Not to diminish the seriousness of sexual assault and harassment, or the obvious gravity of a serial sexual predator about to become the POTUS, but this particular story is really just one dirty old codger behaving badly. I dare say the viral political spin is way overblown.
Hugh E. said @ 11:26pm GMT on 16th Jan
The dirty old codger allegedly invoked the words and attitude of the person to assume the highest single office in government. I think that qualifies as political. In fact, the allegation, included in the OP's local source material, is suspiciously missing from the link you've provided which quotes the defendant's council disproportionately.
sanepride said @ 2:16am GMT on 17th Jan
Eh, bfd. He's a town councilman from Greenwich, CT, practically a nobody. If he was a little higher up on the food chain it'd be more noteworthy.
papango said @ 3:33am GMT on 17th Jan
Being grabbed in the pussy doesn't get less violating because they person doing it is a 'nobody'. And they guy (allegedly) referenced not having to be PC anymore because Trump is now President. It's the validation that Trump's rise has given grubby codgers of all ages that will have the biggest immediate impact.
sanepride said @ 3:51am GMT on 17th Jan [Score:1 Good]
Sure, I recognize this, but what makes this case big news- even Down Under apparently, is his title of 'Republican politician'. While this may be technically accurate, I'm just pointing out that he's barely a politician. And he is being charged with sexual assault, which is totally appropriate. But what the hell, pour on the outrage, not like there's any limit on the stuff.
papango said @ 4:34am GMT on 17th Jan [Score:1 Interesting]
I'm not sure that's true. The angle being pushed down here is the 'I don't have to be PC anymore' comment. It could be a difference of sources - I expect it's getting different emphasis for different audiences. But it's very much the 'look how Trump's rhetoric has been interpreted' angle here.

And it is outrageous, to be honest. The idea that not grabbing a woman by her pussy was considered a PC affectation is pretty big news to some of us (me included).
sanepride said @ 6:52am GMT on 17th Jan
All I'm saying is a certain type of person is gonna grab pussies whether it's 'PC' or not.
And this guy just might be one of them.

eidolon said @ 7:10pm GMT on 18th Jan
It is easy to prove a woman physically assaulted a man because of the physical marks. It is very difficult to prove a sexual assault because it rarely leaves marks and people more often engage in sexual acts consensually than they do violent acts.

A man doesn't have to prove he's not in the UFC to have his assault allegations taken seriously.

The surest way to make a day where you got molested worse is to have your aggressor charge you with assault and win. Nothing improves a groping quite like getting hauled off in cuffs.

This is the message women receive: Don't do dare raise a fuss. Don't even think about fighting back. We'll punish you for it. We'll punish your children too. Know your place and don't ever dream of occupying any other. We will punish you for dreaming.
