I just bought Disney Plus. I didn’t really want it, but I found a website selling surplus keys for 85% off. Which settled the matter.
I’ve been watching Pixar movies, but found them to be a bit childish.
I thought that Up was going to be about raging at the dying light at end of day. In fact it was about chasing some sort of escaped roadrunner ostrich.
I thought that Lightyear was going to be about losing and accepting the loss of loved-ones, seen through the medium of relativistic your me dilation. A brilliant idea and one I wish I had come up with. In fact it was about shooting some robots.
I knew that Toy Story 4 had a sentient toy made from a plastic fork. That clearly wasn’t going to survive for very long, so I assumed that the story would be about accepting that a very short life can be rewarding if you take it for it is. Instead, the story was about something else. I can’t remember what.
Perhaps my expectations were set to high for a bunch of films for kids. Or perhaps I should watch films made for grownups instead. But they’re so boring…
