Joe Frank, radio hero, has passed away.

quote [ Joe Frank, who stretched the boundaries of radio storytelling with mind-bending, absurdist monologues often fueled by his neuroses and his dark view of the world, died on Monday in Beverly Hills, Calif. He was 79. ]

Joe Frank made some of the best radio I've heard. His delivery and creativity put him in a class of creators that I'm just glad enough other people like that he got to continue doing it.

If you haven't heard him, check out clips on http://joefrank.com or head to youtube. Fantastic stuff and the world is a little dimmer now.

Radiolab just did a special show about him today, too. Jad Abumrad got together with Ira Glass from This American Life and Brooke Gladstone from On the Media.
