A lot of predictions I have read are quite prescient in their inference, if not in their specifics. But they nearly always fail to predict fundamental social changes that occur across time.

I find the predictions of increased leisure time as a result of technology-assisted work to be the most naive and somewhat sad.

Yep. We'll have to work extra hard to keep up with the Amazon AIs, or they'll harvest us for raw protein.
