It was weird, I was watching Dr Horrible, and as a villain, he was talking about how he was trying to change the status quo.

Because the status is not quo! Lol, yeah, it's pretty common in liberal media in general to give perfectly valid concerns over society to villains and then undermine them by making them hypocritical in some way. Legend of Korra did this a lot. I thought I posted this, but can't find the post.
