I think Aja was the second album I ever bought, right after Pete Townshend's Empty Glass. Must have been 1979 or 80. I'm pretty sure I own the entire Steely Dan and solo Donald Fagen CD discography. It weirds me out when I hear the played in grocery stores or shopping malls.

edit: I'm surprised Countdown to Ecstasy was a flop. Bodhisattva was one of my favorite songs in high school, plus Showbiz Kids and My Old School seemed like hits to my early teens, 1980s sensibilities. Of course, that was a decade after the album's release, so I suppose the other five albums that had come out after it had some retroactive influence.
