free on-demand service does not stop pirating movies and TV shows

quote [ The study found that while the participants watched 4.6% more TV overall when they had the free on-demand service, they did not stop using BitTorrent to pirate movies and TV shows that were not included in the offering.

About $5.5 billion in revenue was lost to piracy globally last year...and itโ€™s expected to approach $10 billion by 2022.
Shutting down the file-sharing site Megaupload increased the revenue at two movie studios studied by at least 6% ]

I haven't been to a movie theater in ages. I They need to start releasing digital copies at the same time as theatrical release and give a drm free digital copy so i can use it on my media server. Price it at $7 and i'd buy a ton. Theres no physical media cost/labor. All it would cost them is bandwidth.
