This doesn't sit right with me, in a "let's take attention away from systematic racism" by this silliness. Richmond is 47% majority black, able to come up with a better idea than this. Maybe something which celebrates the defeat of slavery.
It's too early for a Douglas Wilder statue, still alive, the first elected African-American governor, from Richmond and governor of Virginia.
