Technically it was not closed, and therefor could not be re-opened.

The Associated Press reported that the emails the FBI is investigating did not come from Clinton’s private server. Law enforcement officials told the LA Times the emails were not to or from Clinton, and subsequent reports suggested that some or all of them might be duplicates of messages that the FBI has reviewed already.

It will be fun to watch all the Hillary Supporters in a "defencive crouch" over the next few days. This is written like a cheap tabloid. Why is the BBC giving free advertising to Trump. As far as I can see, He has nothing to do with this story yet the plaster his picture above Hillary's.

I think some members of the media are covering their bases in case it becomes an important story. They don't want it to be said that they missed it. At this point it would take a picture of the candidate having sex with a human centipede to have a major impact on the outcome of the election.

Semi on topic re: the picture of Trump, I was reading an article earlier today about the hacker/phisher getting sentenced in the "Fappening" case. There was no picture of him in the article, so out of curiosity, I did an image search on his name, and if his face was shown in the results, I couldn't find it amidst all the pictures of the celebrities that were hacked. It's amusing that his privacy has remained somewhat intact.

So far this story is all about James Comey . The fact that Huma Abedin e-mail Hillary clinton is hardly news. The fact that these were not on the private server also puzzling.

But Comey comes out and lays this turd on the dining room table 10 days from an election is...different. The implication is that there is incriminating evidence in these documents..the statement says "that appear to be pertinent to the investigation".

But then says "cannot yet assess whether or not this material may be significant, and I cannot predict how long it will take us to complete this additional work".

WTF...well look at the freaking thing and figure it out...NOW!

They may not be able to tell us all that is in he documents but you can give us the jist. To say something like this and to walk away is unacceptable.

-1 Disinformative.

"Disinformation is intentionally false or misleading information that is spread in a calculated way to deceive target audiences."

Don't see it... nothing false in this story.

"The letter from Mr Comey to Congress is frustratingly vague. There's no information, for instance, or how many emails are in question. That will only fuel the rampant speculation already breaking out, with leaks from "government sources" in the coming days sure to fan the flames.

Mrs Clinton's critics will go on the attack, using the latest news to support their claims that the former secretary of state engaged in malfeasance. Her supporters will spend the next few days in a defensive crouch, trying to assess how bad the damage could be.

What's certain, however, is that whether this turns out to be a big deal or not, it places the spotlight on all the wrong places for the Clinton campaign. It all but guarantees that even if she wins White House, the early days of her presidency will be dogged by this long-running political imbroglio."

And this pretty much puts the story in a small circle

It's an about-face for him a bit. Up until now, he'd been criticizing the FBI about as much as Hillary. I'm sure someone has a point spread on how long that'll last.

Having had a Top Secret / Special Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) security clearance......if I had done not even 1/10th of what Hillary did, I would still be sitting in jail. I had an enlisted guy working for me that had some classified documents, open, on his desk when the inspector came through. He was reprimanded, got a bad fitness report which ultimately ended his career, and had his clearance stripped. This was for a SECRET document, not even TOP SECRET.

what she did was wrong and what Comey did in letting her off ruined his reputation and credibility.

You would never be able to do even 1/10th what Sec. Clinton did, because you were not at that level. You were not Secretary of State. You did not have a SCIF in your home. Your situation was not even remotely comparable to hers.

Sec. Clinton did not mishandle classified documents - these weren't marked classified documents left out on someone's desk. This was information in email that was determined to be classified. According to the FBI report (which you can read, at least the unclassified portions of), all email chains that included classified information appear to have originated with other government employees.

And according to the FBI interviews with those USG employees, they were trying to get information to the Secretary of State on an unclassified network, avoid sensitive details, and talk around any classified information. Pretty much SOP at State. And that's even before we get into the arguments that might be made as to whether some of the information should be classified or even is classified in the first place.

FBI Director Comey did his job, and so did the FBI agents who conducted the investigation. The email investigation had the potential to show real wrongdoing - all it showed was that Sec. Clinton and others had poor judgment in not stopping her from using her own email server.

Having also had a TS clearance and seeing guys get fucked over for leaving documents unsecured, I can confidently say: fuck Bush, too.

The problem here is that we are focusing way too much on one individual, Clinton. Clinton is a symptom of a much larger problem: the big wigs don't give a shit about intelligence security, but will nail anyone else to the wall for smaller infractions. But it's not like this is anything new. Loose Lips Sink Ships started after politicians were publicly releasing information they shouldn't have, and yet nothing happened to them, either.

A lot of people say they want government run like a business. This certainly seems like management getting away with stuff that gets the lower-level people fired. Same as it ever was.
