Zebra Shark Has Babies Without a Male After Years of Isolation

Not actually uncommon in the animal kingdom. It's only used as an emergency survival technique though because the offspring are clones of the mother and so don't get the benefits of sexual reproduction. Basically, if a female doesn't mate for a long time, their body says "shit, there's no males around, I'm going to die without children so I better make the best of it myself"

I think it's more likely they'd create some hideous hybrid race by managing to impregnate their anime waifu pillows.
