quote [ The Arizona senator was diagnosed with brain cancer last year
โLast summer, Senator John McCain shared with Americans the news that our family already knew: he had been diagnosed with an aggressive glioblastoma, and the prognosis was serious,โ the McCain family said in a statement Friday. โIn the year since, John has surpassed expectations for his survival. But the progress of disease and inexorable advance of age render their verdict. With his usual strength of will, he has now chosen to discontinue medical treatment.โ ]

He was highly skilled at destroying US aircraft - I forget whether he crashed 4 or 5 multi-million-dollar fighters. That said, while McCain may have been a shitty pilot, I agree with HoZay about my grudging admiration for him. At least he called a spade a spade, and Trump a liar.

EDIT: I stand corrected. McCain lost 2 aircraft due to pilot error or being shot down; 1 to an indetermined-cause engine failure; 1 to a freak accident. The fifth "crash" was not a crash at all, though 'daredevil flying' was involved. I stand by my grudging admiration for the man AS a man.

I disagree with him on just about everything, but I sure hate to lose him.
