Getting vaccinated against shingles seems to lower one's risk of dementia. I hope the effect is also there for people who have already gotten shingles, like me.

Gen X here — got my Shingrix shot this year, plus the booster (don’t skip that part, fellow SE’ers!).
And yes, you should still get vaccinated even if you’ve had shingles before, right?
