Getting vaccinated against shingles seems to lower one's risk of dementia. I hope the effect is also there for people who have already gotten shingles, like me.

Gen X here — got my Shingrix shot this year, plus the booster (don’t skip that part, fellow SE’ers!).
You should still get vaccinated even if you’ve had shingles before, no? |

Especially in that case.
My mother had shingles after she was infected with chickenpox when she was young. The pain was quite severe - so get your shot when you had chickenpox. Since my father died of Dementia, connecting these two diseases somehow hits home. |
