The Atlantic: What does ISIS really want?

I don't always like the Atlantic, but I found this an interesting essay on the ideals and logic that rule an organisation that to most of us seems bent on random, psychopathic violence.

I think the Aum Shirinoi already did that in Japan. If they identified themselves as followers of Christ, that is.
