Flamingos In The Men's Room: How Zoos And Aquariums Handle Hurricanes

quote [ Although the netting for that aviary was tested for 150 mph winds," Magill says, "it was not tested to be able to withstand the impact of a mobile home that was picked up in those winds and launched into the aviary like a torpedo. ]

That quote made me think of the Ron White post a few days ago.

There are a few different species. Some are lawn ornament sized, others are as big as ostriches. Even the big ones can fly, and a flock of them going by overhead is damned impressive.

Of course, fossil fuel burning power plants can't get damaged by hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, tsunamis, or earthquakes.

A lawyer for tobacco and oil companies professionally criticizes the science linking secondhand smoke to health risks and human activity to global warming, employed by Foxnews. It's a good gig if you can land it.

As one of the most powerful storms ever recorded bore down on the continental United States, with much of Florida under evacuation order, President Donald Trump was focused on a matter of grave urgency.

He gathered his cabinet at Camp David and said there was no time to waste. With Hurricane Irma set to potentially devastate huge swaths of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina, now was the time, he said, to rush through massive … tax cuts.

Irma Won’t “Wake Up” Climate Change-Denying Republicans. Their Whole Ideology Is on the Line.
