Also, it's nice to have an item of appropriate length, and not some rambling strewn with trying too hard to be clever filler.

If we're sharing weird reading habits, here used to be mine: I read two lines at once, and except for the 1st line wind up reading every line twice.
I'm out of practice, but it made both my reading speed and comprehension increase quite a bit. Now I don't read nearly as much, to my great shame, and it is hard to get back in to that mode. |
