Illuminating when you compare and contrast:

Indeed. I'm under no illusions that politicians get loads of campaign donations from special interests. Still, having both a "here's what they're getting" button and an "as compared to..." feature would make the picture a little more complete.

I'm interested in why Pelosi was chosen as the sample. Does she receive the most money amongst the Democrats? The least? Is it because she receives about the same as the rest of her party? Is this more/less than typical for the Republican party?

I don't think the answer is some grand conspiracy. But when you're dealing with data presented for two parties, wouldn't it be a good idea to have a sample from both parties? Or at least an objective reason for selecting that sample (like this Congressperson got more money than any other)? Was it because they didn't want to contrast Democrat and Republican funding and be viewed as having a political bias?

I broke the site this morning. and some mods didn't get counted in the score of posts. It doesn't effect karma, just looks funny :)

On the main link, Pelosi is the only example.
RainbowRandolf said @ 9:28pm GMT on 8th Jul
She is the only openly displayed example. You get Boehner's when you hover over his name.

Maybe you do, but he's not my type.
mechavolt said @ 11:26pm GMT on 8th Jul
The problem with that is that you have to mouse over Boehner's name to see his information, whereas Pelosi is prominantly displayed.
shiftace said @ 3:32am GMT on 9th Jul
Looks like Pelosi was chosen because she was the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives that preceded John Boehner who is shockingly orange.
HoZay said @ 8:30am GMT on 9th Jul
Boehner has kind of backed off the orange tanning effect. There's a theory that he was doing that to cover up a health problem. Undead pallor? Jaundice? Lesions?
I wouldn't want to start any rumors.

Maybe the Grays were testing out a new cloning method and had not gotten all the bugs worked out on the boehner model.
